Chiropractic Care is Not Just for the Spine!

Many people have asked us what the CCEP that follows Dr. Ferdowsian’s name stands for. CCEP stands for Certified Chiropractic Extremities Practitioner. Dr. Omid Ferdowsian completed extensive post-graduate education specific to the diagnosis and treatment of extremities in order to receive these credentials.

Examples of extremity or extra-spinal adjustments would be adjustments to your shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee, or foot. Dr. Ferdowsian’s additional education in extremity diagnosis and adjusting makes him an expert in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries in these areas. Following is a list of some examples of musculoskeletal disorders that Dr. Ferdowsian is able to treat: Canolith Misalignment Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome Rotator Cuff Syndrome Tennis Elbow Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Anterior Rib Misalignment Hip Bursitis Iliotibial Band Syndrome Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) Injury Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) Injury Anterior Cruciate Ligaments (ACL) Injury Chondromalacia (Runner’s Knee) Sprained/Strained Ankle Plantar Fasciitis Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome Hyperpronation of the Feet Hypersupination of the Feet Dropped Arch.

This is definitely not an all-inclusive list of the injuries and syndromes that can be treated using chiropractic care. This list will give you an idea of the wide array of musculoskeletal issues that chiropractic can treat.

The best way to determine if chiropractic care is appropriate for your current condition is to be examined by a chiropractor. You would be surprised how many of our patients have benefited from Dr. Ferdowsian’s extremity expertise. A lot of misalignments tend to hide because the area that is misaligned is not always the area that is in pain. Many of our patients complain of hip or low back pain when the problem originates in their feet or knees. Other patients complain of shoulder pain when the problem originates in their neck. This is why it is invaluable to find a chiropractor that has the knowledge to examine and treat your entire body, not just your spine.
