Chiropractic care in Denver and Lone Tree Colorado
Whether you are in need of chiropractic care, or looking for chiropractic services, we can help. You are able to perform complex motor activities, such as walking or playing sports, because of the interaction between your nervous system and your musculoskeletal system. Your musculoskeletal system provides the structure, or foundation, for your body through the skeleton and holds this structure in place through your muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Your nervous system is able to communicate the desire to hold still or to move through your brain and nerves. Unfortunately, because of activity, bad positioning, accidents, or overuse, your nervous or musculoskeletal system may not be able to do its job properly. This is where I come in.
Musculoskeletal pain and discomfort often stems from joints that are fixated, or immobile. This usually happens from an injury that can be as minor as a sneeze. My job is to find these joints that are fixated by palpation and by performing over thirty-five specific muscle strength and proprioceptive tests at each of your visits. Once I find the fixation, I apply a specific motion using my hands or an instrument to restore motion to the joints. This motion is known as an adjustment. I have been trained in Diversified, Thompson Drop Table, Gonstead, SOT, Flexion Distraction, and Biophysics techniques. This just means I can adjust you in a lot of different ways. The adjustments that I administer can be low or high force, depending on what you need and your comfort level. Some adjustments are accompanied by a characteristic popping noise. Most of my patients describe adjustments as comfortable or even relaxing.
What to Expect After Your First Adjustment or After a New Injury
Just as every person is unique, so is his or her reaction to chiropractic care. Some patients experience great relief after just one adjustment. Other patients experience an increase in symptoms for a short time after the first adjustment. Most patients experience mild soreness or achiness. I can recommend palliative, or symptom-relieving, treatment that you can do at home which may include applying ice or heat, stretches, and exercises. Our Denver chiropractic office also offers natural pain relievers and anti-inflammatory supplements that do not have the unwanted side effects of most over the counter medications. Please share any concerns you may have regarding your reaction to treatment so I can make the best recommendations or properly modify your treatment plan.
