CUSTOM ORTHOTICS IN DENVER, WHEAT RIDGE, AND LONE TREE COLORADO

Custom-built orthotics are offered through Governor’s Park Chiropractic. I am able to build custom orthotics that you can take home that day. These custom orthotics for plantar fasciitis and other foot mechanics issues are made to support proper alignment in your feet. I have found that if your feet stay well-adjusted, the rest of your spine tends to stay well-adjusted longer. If you’re looking for an orthotics specialist near you in Denver, GPC is here for all your foot mechanic needs.

*If you choose to get a pair of orthotics, extra time may need to be scheduled on a future visit.

What Are Custom Orthotics?

An orthotic is a medical shoe insert that supports the abnormal movement of the foot caused by a variety of factors. Orthotics support the movement of the foot to relieve pressure, pain, and discomfort and can add support and cushion while walking, running, or simply standing throughout your day. There are two types of orthotics: general orthotics and custom orthotics.

Generally, over-the-counter orthotics can be bought at most pharmacies and tend to be cheaper. However, they often are not as effective at providing support and pain relief as custom orthotics, which are designed specifically for you and your healthcare needs. That’s why we offer only the highest-quality custom orthotics near you in Denver.

What Are Custom Orthotics

Are Custom Insoles and Custom Orthotics the Same Thing?

Custom insoles and custom orthotics often get mentioned in the same breath, but they serve slightly different purposes and are designed differently. Here’s a breakdown of the key differences:

Custom Orthotics Custom Insoles
Purpose Custom orthotics are medical devices prescribed by a healthcare professional. They are designed to correct biomechanical foot issues, such as problems with walking, standing, or running. Custom insoles are primarily designed for comfort. They provide cushioning and support to the feet, and can help
with general foot fatigue.
Customization Level They offer a high level of customization. Orthotics are made based on a detailed analysis of your foot mechanics, often involving a gait analysis or a foot-impression process. While they are custom-made, the level of customization is generally less specific than orthotics. They are tailored to
the shape of your foot, but might not address more complex foot biomechanics.
Material They can be made from a wider range of materials, including hard plastic, carbon fiber, or flexible materials, tailored to the specific correction needed. They can be made from a variety of materials, including foam, gel, or a combination, depending on the desired comfort level and support.
Use Cases They are used to address specific medical conditions, such as plantar fasciitis, bursitis, tendonitis, diabetic foot ulcers, and foot, ankle, and heel pain. Ideal for individuals who spend a lot of time on their feet, athletes, or those looking for additional support in their footwear.

While both custom insoles and custom orthotics aim to provide support and improve foot comfort, custom orthotics are specifically designed to correct biomechanical foot issues and are prescribed by a healthcare provider, whereas custom insoles are more focused on comfort and may not address specific medical conditions.

How Does The Custom Orthotics Process Work?

I will first check your shoes. I have found that orthotics are only as good as the shoes they are in. I will test your shoes to determine if they have supportive soles and if they bend where they should, or at the base of your toes rather than in the middle of your arch. If you need new shoes, I will show you how to test shoes so you can check them before you leave the store.

Once we have determined that you have a good pair of shoes, I will adjust your feet. Then, I will form the orthotics to your feet inside your shoes. You will take a short 5-7 minute walk while the orthotics set. Finally, I will check to make sure you held the adjustment well. If not, the orthotics will be remade before you leave.
